Teachers Take Part

The Youth Summit is a free online event bringing together sixth-form and college students, aged 16 to 18, from around the country to discuss and debate the topics of the CHRISTMAS LECTURES.

Throughout the day, students will be given a variety of different scenarios to discuss with their peers, and gain a deeper understanding of forensic science as they talk through their thoughts and ideas.

The Royal Institution supports I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here.

The RI Online Youth Summit has been commissioned by the RI to ensure that young people’s voices are heard by the lecturer and production team for the 2022 CHRISTMAS LECTURES.

⚠️ The subject matter will involve violent crimes and may be challenging. It will be addressed in a sensitive and appropriate manner for an audience of 16-18 year olds. ⚠️

I’m a Scientist is a safe, moderated, student-led online activity. It’s quick and easy to set up, and is accessible from the classroom or home. Thanks to funding from the Royal Institution, this activity is free for UK state-maintained schools.

Students participating in previous Youth Summits said:

“That more people my age share my interest in these topics than I thought”

“The mixture of opinions I encountered when discussing different topics”
